Do You Need to Talk to Someone?
Psychodynamic Therapy consistently gets good results in working on traumatic experiences, conflicts, relationships and anger issues. It looks into unconscious processes and how they relate to unresolved conflict, for example how early childhood and relationships with primary caregivers influence your present life.
It is rooted in Freudian psychoanalysis, but it has significantly evolved.
It often feels like going on a journey together with your therapist to “make the unconscious conscious” in Freudian terms, discover your repressed impulses, painful internal conflicts or traumatic memories that your mind might block. The goal is to find balance and relief by decreasing or completely dissolving the damaging associations, such as guilt or shame.
Humanistic Therapy or Person-Centered Therapy is based on the psychological work of Carl Rogers. It focuses on helping people reach their full potential by becoming more self-aware, self-accepting and trusting themselves.
This therapy is client-led, so your therapist will work with you on the issues you want to explore, as it is based on the idea that everyone has the potential to solve their problems.
It is achieved by creating a space where you can come up with your own solutions by looking at yourself as a unique person and exploring your relationship with the world around you. Your therapist helps to validate your feelings and emotions with true empathy and compassion, advocating your own unique way so you learn how to use it to your benefit.
Gestalt Therapy is a type of humanistic and person-centred therapy that focuses on the present moment and works on resolving issues as they arise.
It looks at a person as a whole entity consisting of body, mind, and emotions. The word “gestalt” is used in German and means that something is “placed,” or “put together. This reflects the doctrine that people can learn to appreciate themselves as a whole, not just their parts. It also helps find ways to ground people in the present moment to fulfil their lives.
The Gestalt philosophy rejects the idea that any specific trait, experience, episode, or diagnosis could define a person.
In this form of therapy, you can be encouraged to engage in creative experiences like role-playing, creative writing, or drawing and painting to become more aware of your thoughts and actions. Through collaboration between you and your therapist, you can learn how to change negative thought patterns and behaviours which may block your self-awareness, making you unhappy.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that our beliefs about a situation play a crucial role in how we feel about it, which determines how we respond to it. CBT aims to break this cycle by reassessing our thoughts, finding alternative perspectives and ultimately changing the way we think. This influences our feelings positively and, in turn, improves our reactions and responses.
CBT often involves assigning homework (e.g., thought exercises, and keeping a journal).
Cognitive behavioural therapy is all about breaking this negative cycle.
Existential Therapy looks at the deeper meaning of various aspects of life such as freedom, religion or dying. It works with the questions that people can’t usually answer. It can help find purpose in life and life situations, such as illness, duty, parenthood or mission.
One technique that can be used in existential therapy is getting the client to imagine dying to enable them to evaluate their beliefs and their priorities.
Couples or Family Therapy looks at patterns in relationships and dynamics between individuals so that people gain awareness of what's going on between them. They learn to communicate effectively and “be heard and understood” by their partner or a family member. They also learn to understand the underlying reasons for certain relationship issues and explore possible ways of changing the negative patterns.
Integrative Therapy

I contacted Natasha after promising my kids that I would get some professional help with my anger issues. I thought it would be a waste of time but Natasha sensed I was cynical and recommended her 'walk & talk' sessions which I've been doing for over 3 months now. It doesn't feel like therapy, it's like a walk on the beach with a mate, she just listens to me and then together we try to understand why I've got angry about a certain situation and find solutions to stop it happening. She has honestly made a massive difference to my life, yeah I still get angry but I can now control it. Thank you Natasha!
